The above titles running on Intel® HD Graphics 2000 may see performance increases of up to 15%. Intel has tested many games for compatibility and performance; A list of some that are known to work well is located here: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intelhdgraphics3000_2000/sb/CS-032052.htm. The list is non-exhaustive - many other current and older games may run well.  The list will also grow over time as new games come to market and are tested.

Notes

1.    Low setting means in-game settings are set to low and resolution at 1024x768.

2.    Medium settings means in-game setting set to medium and resolution to either 1280x800.

3.    The performance increases listed in table above are versus the previous driver version PV15.21.5.2266 (8.15.10.2266) on an Intel® Core i7-2920XM processor -based system with Intel® HD Graphics 3000 in similar settings in AC power setting mode. Performance will vary with computer configuration and game settings.

Affected OS(s)

Affected Project(s)

Bug ID: 4010331

59Hz refresh rate isn’t shown on Intel CUI

Soft BIOS

Windows* 7-64

2nd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause:

For LVDS Encoder When the panel supported 3 DTD’s like 40 50 and 59.94Hz

These 3 would be added as 40 50 60 Hz and another 60 Hz and 59 Hz as interlaced Modes in LVDSTimings

The MAX_LVDS_Timings array was limited and it did not account for the 59 Hz as the size would exceed Max Size of Array. In addition, there was no check to see if a similar Refresh Rate existed in the array.

Fix : Increased the array size to account for the Max timing and also add a check to override a mode if there was same X Y && RR already existing in the LVDS timings.

When changing configuration from LFP + HDMI Extended mode to Single Display (SD), OS issues two modeset calls with SD call first for LFP and then SD call for HDMI. During the first mode set call, since HMDI is not a valid display in future config, the detection bit is reset. This causes audio driver to remove the audio end point and application starts using internal speakers as enumerated by OS as default audio device.

When SD for HDMI happens, audio driver indicates back to OS that HDMI end point is enabled but application still continues to use internal speakers as default speakers causing the bug.

This is hitting an issue where Aero changes the RR on its own.

With Aero disabled the issue is not seen. Basically Aero changes the RR from 60 to 59 on its own which CUI is also not aware.

So on resume we have following 4 set modes:

1. 60 hz by OS with login screen enabled.

2. As we log in Aero changes RR to 59.

3. Persistence sees last RR as 60 so reverts RR to 60 .

4. Aero changes it back to 59 hz.

Fix :

If the Actual calculated RR is in + - 0.05% of the Required RR then only we Add the media RR else we don’t .

so The tolerance used for the TV modes is +- 0.05%

However, for the subsequent iterations (for 24, 30, 29, 50), 19x12@60 is not a valid target and it was never reset because of insufficient condition checks.  Hence wrong tgt/scaling was reported.

1.         If panel doesn’t have Color depth defined in the EDID, try to use the Color Bit Depth defined in the VBT.

2.         For eDP, we are reading the VBT data in function EMBEDDED_DPSINK_Initialize(). We are now caching the value of ColorBitDepth in this function.

3.         Added a new overloaded function EMBEDDED_DPSINK_GetSupportedBPC(), which will return the supported BPC depending on the variable ColorBitDepth, cached previously. If the EDID doesn’t have the Color Depth defined and we have ColorBitDepth defined in VBT, we use it and return the appropriate supported BPC.

4.         If VBT also doesn’t have the ColorBitDepth definition, we fall back to default value.

Soft BIOS

Windows* 7

2nd generation Intel® Core™ Processor Family

Root Cause/Resolution:

While enumerating scaling for 1920x1080, initially we get the native as 1080p@60. Native for this monitor is 19x12@60. This is used as the target mode.
However for the subsequent iterations (for 24 30 29 50) 19x12@60 is not a valid target but we never reset it because of insufficient condition checks. Hence wrong scaling was reported.
Fix: Always reset and re-evaluate the mode as it can change based on refresh rate/scantype.
